The sun hitting hard on the streets and bouncing back and forth from the skyscrapers glass. Thousands of people everywhere, moving fast, like there is no second to waste, the noisy traffic, the permanent impression of being inside a movie set. Last couple of times in New York, I felt overwhelmed, probably because I got accustomed to the quietness and the proximity to nature everywhere at home. That may be the reason why I focus on finding those frozen snapshots of the pause, the contemplation through a café window, the brief conversation, the lonely or accompanied cigarette, the brief stop, even if only motivated by a traffic light turning red.
