2025 May 19 - Ocean, with David Attenborough
David Attenborough, at 99 years old, has just released his latest work. I watch it in the cinema last evening, and highly recommend everyone to watch it.
In this documentary, Attenborough shares with us his lucid perspective on the importance of the oceans in the urgent fight against global warming. In my opinion, the documentary is structured in three parts:
- The first shows absolutely beautiful images of ocean landscapes, plants and animals that, if you are not already fascinated by the sea, will make you fall in love with it.
- The second is a very instructive and necessary part, which educates us on the destructive effects of industrialized trawling, which indiscriminately catches any species that is dragged by their nets (causing great waste) and also destroys the ocean floor, depleting all resources to maximize economic results in the minimum time.
- With the third part comes the hope, showing the impressive recovery power of the sea, calling for the awareness of all of us on the importance of protecting vast areas of the oceans as a way of regeneration and CO2 capture.

If you don't get a chance to see it in theaters, I read that it will be available on Disney+ starting June 8.
